Airport České Budějovice LKCS » Airport » Modernization
České Budějovice Airport would like to be an open international aviation harbor to where aircraft like Boeing 737 or Airbus 320 could land.
For this purpose, it is necessary to build a relevant background. Due to this fact a deep reconstruction and modernization of the actual airport area has been planned.
The first stage of modernization has been launched in December 2009. It included the complete network of the area, reconstruction of the one of the former military object into an administrative building and also a reconstruction of the Control Tower. The assigned investor responsible for the airport reconstruction is the South Bohemia Region which together with the České Budějovice Town authorities is also a founder of the Jihočeské letiště České Budějovice a.s.Company and the owner of the whole area.
The reconstruction which on the basis of the announced tender cost more than 60 million crowns was realized by the K-BUILDING CB, a.s. Company. The first stage was accomplished in June 2010.
As the next step there is the second stage of the airport modernization prepared with the intention to start within the period of 2011. This much more complicated phase includes a construction of the airport terminal on the green land, enlargement of the aircraft apron, RWY reconstruction and a technical background accomplishment. Estimated financial costs should be stated to almost one billion crowns and from this amount of financial means the major of these funds should be paid from the European Structural Funds, specifically from the Regional Operational Program JZ.
